1. Introduction of The Personal Data Protection Act 2010

The Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“the PDPA”) has come into force on 15th November 2013. The PDPA seeks to regulate the processing of personal data of individuals by data users so as to provide protection to the individual’s personal data, thereby safeguarding the interests of such individuals.

This notice is issued pursuant to the PDPA and for the purpose of this notice, "Personal Data" shall have the meaning as ascribed to it under the PDPA. This notice applies to the persons governed under the PDPA and serves to inform you how your personal data is controlled, processed and/or used by Dancomech Holdings Berhad (1050285-U) and its holding, related and subsidiary companies, including but not limited to, Dancomech Engineering Sdn Bhd (524484-V), Optimis Engineering Sdn Bhd (831446-A), Dancomech Engineering (JB) Sdn Bhd (1047387- D) (collectively referred to as "the Group"). For the purpose of this Notice, Personal Data includes data collected and to be collected before and after issuance of this Notice.

The Personal Data collected by us may include but not limited to your name, position, company’s name, contact details (telephone number, fax number, e- mail address and correspondence/registered address), banking information and/or other information, as applicable, relevant to the purposes as listed in paragraph 5 below.   • Profiling of your company as our visitors, vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, agents or business partners;

  • Pursuing any legitimate interest of our group of companies which includes recovery of any sums due (if applicable);

We can assist you to access and correct your personal information held by us. Where you wish to have access to your personal information in our possession, or where you are of the opinion that such personal information held by us is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or where relevant, not up-to-date, you may make a request to us by contacting our Designated Personnel via the contact details provided in paragraph 11 below. You should quote your name, address and phone/account number and provide brief details of the information you want a copy of in any such request. We may charge a processing fee as may be allowed under the Act for searching for and providing you with access to your personal information. We will use reasonable efforts to comply with your request to access or correct your personal information within 21 days of receiving your request and the relevant processing fee. Please note that we may have to withhold access to your personal information in certain situations, for example when we are unable to confirm your identity or where information requested for is of a confidential commercial nature or in the event we receive repeated requests for the same information. Nevertheless, we will notify you of the reasons for not being able to accede to your request.

 

10. Rights to Limit Processing

If you:

  • do not wish to receive any marketing communications from the Group; or
  • wish for the Group to stop processing your Personal Data for marketing purposes or any direct marketing purposes; or
  • wish to change the manner in which the Group is permitted to process your Personal Data as described under paragraph 4 above;
